Mayor
Drummond is recognized for its antique buildings, its old paths
without floor tiles and its trees. The old street that crosses
the place, allows the visitors to travel through a sort of green
tunnel of exquisite freshness. This makes it a very special place
to be. In the heart of this district the old train station was
inaugurated in the beginning of the last century.
Mayor
Drummond, is also known for its links to the Catholic religion.
“Las Carmelitas Descalzas” and “Congregación
de las Hermanas de la Inmaculada de Génova” worship
Santa María Goretti. The latter Congregation makes an important
contribution to the education of the Department. There may be
no other district that embodies and promotes its industries, people,
religion and science so well.
