The Archbishop of San Juan, Américo Orzali made of this colonial style chapel a Parish. The Church and the “Calvario” are storical Monuments.

Don Antonio Solanillas was the Spanish settler who built this small chapel on the side of the way to enthrone the image of “Nuestra Señora de la Carrodilla” (“Our Lady of Carrodilla”). The people’s faith made of the Lady the Patron saint of the Mendocinean.

Carrodilla has been overwhelmed, in the last decade, by newcomers who eventually chose this place as a residencial abode.

Carrodilla hosts a Historical Culture and Religious National Center callled "Virgin of Carrodilla". During the Holy Week, Carrodilla becomes a central place of cult for the public catholic services and processions.

Another curiousity to visit in Carrodilla is the “REYNAUD Mill”, the only hydraulic mill still working in Mendoza. The patrimonial relic is located on San Martín Street, and is considered as a symbol of the days when mills fueled the economical activity in Mendoza, before wine-producing became the main industry in the province.

The Municipality of Luján declared Carrodilla place of cultural and historical interest.
