Don
Antonio Solanillas was the Spanish settler who built this small
chapel on the side of the way to enthrone the image of “Nuestra
Señora de la Carrodilla” (“Our Lady of Carrodilla”).
The people’s faith made of the Lady the Patron saint of
the Mendocinean.
Carrodilla
has been overwhelmed, in the last decade, by newcomers who eventually
chose this place as a residencial abode.
Carrodilla
hosts a Historical Culture and Religious National Center callled
"Virgin of Carrodilla". During the Holy Week, Carrodilla
becomes a central place of cult for the public catholic services
and processions.
