The
colonial times
This district used to be a route for the caravans that went
to the forts of San Carlos, San Rafael and Malargüe.
This
district also hosted famous argentine personalities who hide
in houses of the area before leaving the country for political
reasons.
Between
the oasis and the arid mount
This
is an area characterized for a stark contrast between an oasis
with cultivated lands and trees and a semi-deserted and barren
mount that ends in the Carrizal Dike of 15 km length.
Located
of the coast of the River Tunuyán, lays the artificial
lake Carrizal.This “water mirror” of 15 km in length
and 4 wide invites you to enjoy yourself in close contact with
the nature and to practice a wide range of nautical sports:
windsurf, ski and fishing among others.
The Dairy farms’ days
Many years ago, the main production of milk, cheeses butter
and other dairy products were elaborated in this district.
At
present, the main activities of the district are the agricultural
ones.
The
Pejerrey Festival
This
festival which is carried out in Carrizal includes artistic
shows as well as water sport competitions, fishing, typical
meals served, etc.
